Poor Credit History?

"My finances were in a sorry state because I had over committed myself.  I was having trouble making the necessary payments to my mortgage, loan and credit card.  My overdraft was at its limit.  Alan Dunn worked hard to get me a brilliant Building Society remortgage.  My monthly commitments halved, dropping  from £568 to £284."    SJ, Gateshead.

A poor credit record can be a severe hindrance to anyone trying to get a mortgage or remortgage.

There are many causes of adverse credit.

If you have ever missed any payments on a loan or credit card, had CCJs registered against you, or have even been declared bankrupt, you may have adverse credit.

Having a county court judgement registered against you is far more common than you may think.

Each year in England & Wales approximately 1 million CCJs are registered. It can happen all too easily, sometimes without you even being aware of it. A messy divorce, unemployment, or perhaps that large bill that you simply couldn't afford to pay.

If you believe you may have adverse credit it is important that you do not madly apply to a clutch of lenders who stand a good chance of refusing you, as this will further damage your credit rating.

However there are lenders who specialise in lending to borrowers with adverse credit.  These lenders working in the “sub prime” market themselves have a range of products for different circumstances.  It is important to get advice to find the best deal for you in these circumstances.

The overall cost for comparison is 8.5% APR.  The actual rate available will depend upon your circumstances.  Ask for a personalised illustration.  APR is variable and based on a usual case.
